This class focuses on training seasoned poets to create and finalize a manuscript for publication. The class culminates in the production of a book, and our annual AuthorDraft event, where authors pitch their manuscripts to local publishers.

Alumni Class This class focuses on helping CLI Alumni to continue the process of workshopping, and studying the biographies of other published authors.  The students in this class support the Sims Library of Poetry.

The  Children's Book Class is a two-semester course focused on helping Los Angeles area writers to write, edit and publish illustrated picture books. Aside from the writing workshop, the curriculum focuses on studying the biographies of other children's book writers, and fostering a community that holds writer's accountable for finishing their book.  This class guarantees a fully-illustrated, bound children's book for all students who complete the course.
